The front skidplate will need to be lowered in order to install this lower bracket. Make sure to remove these before you put the bar in place and then push the bar all the way into these holes before trying to screw these back in. These are the screws I mentioned where the bracket attaches to the vehicle. It is tight clearance around the hood latch, but it fits and works properly. Once the horn is out of the way, make sure to press the bracket back further so that the mounting points are snug where you will put the screws back in. You can see in this photo that my horn was in the way of the bar, so I ended up loosening the horn and rotating it down 90 degrees to clear the bar. This is clear in the Rally Innovations instructions, but hard to get a photo of. There are two screws with a hex head (10 mm I believe) that you need to remove where the bar will mount. It is tricky to get the bracket in place without removing the bumper, but with some effort you can get it done. Step 2: Install the upper bracket for the Rally Innovations light bar. You don't want to keep dropping screws like I did. After removing the clips and ducting, you can remove the screws from the grille using the MAGNETIC philips head screwdriver. Follow these instructions (only step 3 and 4) You only need to remove the plastic clips at the top of the grille and ducting using the flat head screwdriver or trim tool. Step 1: Remove the lower portion of the front grille. Power drill and bit matched to switch sizeīegin by installing the Rally Innovations light bar. Wiring harness and switch if not included with your lightīasic ratchet sets - both metric and standard LED light bar of your choice* (see note in installation) - I purchased a 22 inch combo beam light bar off Amazon. Rally Innovations Light Bar for the 2014 Forester (XT if applicable) I was lucky to have several co-workers helping me out, so it was easier to hold items in place while installing. The installation was fairly straight forward, but it does take a fair bit of time. I also installed a 22 inch RamboWill LED light on the bar. Yesterday I installed the Rally Innovations light bar on my 2014 Forester XT.
